What is Chemical Peels

As the name suggests, chemical peels use various chemicals in order to peel off a layer of skin, leaving behind a new, better and youthful looking complexion. Many of the clients who have already tried chemical peels in Barrie, Ontario at the Me & My Anti-Aging and Rejuvenation Centre rave about these technique that is more affordable than cosmetic surgery and with similar results.

According to the condition you need to treat, the chemical peel can be stronger or milder. However, the process is the same for all of them: a solution is applied on the entire face (or on certain parts of it) and left there for a pre-determined period of time. After the solution is removed new, healthier skin emerges. Suitable to be used on rosacea and couperose. It has a natural moisturizing effect on the skin, attracting water molecules to the surface of your skin, stimulating and improving the skins barrier function.

Modified Jessner Peel: Contains a combination of salicylic, lactic, and citric acid, which all work together creating a powerful anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial effect on the skin. It is used to treat mild to moderate photo aging, fine expression lines, and superficial wrinkles, loss of firmness, large pores, dull skin, irregular skin tone, acne prone skin, and pigment lesions such as solar lentigines.

Glycolic Acid Peel: Is one of the most commonly used chemical peels in the medical esthetic industry. It is used to even out dull and uneven skin tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as hyperpigmentation and solar damage such as age spots/ liver spots, sagging skin, enlarged pores, mild acne scaring, increases hydration and allows for better penetration of products.

Azelan Acid Peel: Contains a combination of Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid it has antifungal, anti-comedome and pigment regulating properties. This peel has been specifically formulated to address the signs and symptoms of acne (Comedogenic and or/ inflammatory acne, moderate actinic keratosis, seborrheic dermatitis, medium and/ or deep acne scars), may also improve signs of rosacea.
